Nicole Davis, founder and principal of Bold-Sky Studios, is an adventurer in pursuit of beauty and balance. This lifelong passion is at the foundation of Bold-Sky Studios.
When Nicole moved to Portland, Oregon in 2003, she took the city by storm, opening the trend-setting Bold-Sky Café on Mississippi Street and then setting out to single-restaurant-edly revitalize the neighborhood. And she succeeded. Wildly. In fact, Portland Monthly named Nicole one of its Top 25 most influential people in 2005, and Bold-Sky Cafe was celebrated in National Geographic Traveler, The Oregonian, Portland Monthly and The Portland Tribune.
Why all the hoopla? Because Nicole’s decade of experience creating visual and spatial design, combined with strategic business savvy and magnetic leadership, has made her masterful at creating not just spaces, but experiences. She invents spaces that draw people in, make them feel welcome, inspired, comfortable, invigorated—whatever the desired effect may be.
Nicole pursued her MA in Interior Architecture at The Art Institute of Chicago and received her MM from Cornell University. She has completed extensive design and art coursework at The New England School of Art and Design and earned her BA from Brandies University. Her large community of satisfied clients includes: Wells Fargo, PG&E, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Mississippi Studios, Dancing Tree Consulting, The Bazaar Café, and Mississippi Avenue Neighborhood Business Association.
Nicole divides her working time between Bold-Sky Studios and creating visual art. She exhibits oil paintings and multi-media art both internationally and locally, and does commissioned work upon request. Her family and friends continually inspire her through their antics and love. Nicole believes in being the artist of one’s own life. As mother to baby Aurelia, step-mom to Sophie and Emily, dog-mom to Smudge and Pirate, and partner to James, she crafts her life’s palette and paints her own canvas with love, beauty, adventure, meaning and joy.
